Easter is on its way and we’ve got two brilliant opportunities for your children to take part in UP for Uni’s fun, educational and FREE workshops during the holidays.
Both workshops are inspired by Shakespeare because the University of Portsmouth is marking his 400th anniversary, with the Much Ado About Portsmouth festival.
Did you know there are 74 onstage deaths in the works of William Shakespeare? (75 if you count a fly that’s killed in one play).
During this fun one-day drama workshop at the New Theatre Royal, you’ll get the chance to try stage combat, learn how to ‘play to the gallery’ and of course, die (theatrically) on stage!
Can you keep the Mary Rose afloat? Can the French change history and successfully invade England?
Working as a team, you’ll plan a strategy to attack or defend Portsmouth Harbour in 1545 using real maps. You’ll also discover the awesome firepower of a Tudor warship through replica artefacts.
This fascinating one-day workshop at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard blends geography and history, taking you back to about 20 years before Shakespeare was born.
