The Year 8’s played against a Trafalgar team looking to avenge the 7-2 loss they suffered in Year 7!
The game started as a very tense affair with both teams struggling to create chances against some quality defending. A costly mistake by the Trafalgar goalkeeper enabled Ymeraj to open the scoring, latching on to a spilled shot to roll the ball into an empty net. This gave the boys confidence and the second Priory came soon after with some tenacious defending in midfield from Bannister allowing Davies-Garside to pick the ball up just inside the Trafalgar half. Davies-Garside showed great composure to carry the ball into the Tralfalgar penalty box, hold off his marker before rolling a perfect ball across the box for Snow to grab Priory’s second.
The second half continued with Priory dominance, however the boys were unable to capatalise on this, and were unlucky to concede a heavily deflected shot late into the second half, however there was never any danger of the boys losing their winning position and the 3 points. This game concluded the Year 8’s season; their record for the season is as follows: 2 W 1 D and 3 L. Mr Rackley would like to say a masssive congratulations to the team on the improvement they have made since Year 7 and is looking forward to next season already!
