On 1 September Priory School became an academy with the Bohunt Education Trust.
This marks a new chapter in the history of the school.
The move comes following consultations with parents, pupils and staff at Priory.
Bohunt Education Trust (BET) currently runs Bohunt School in Hampshire, which is rated Outstanding in every category by Ofsted, is the Times Educational Supplement’s Overall School of the Year and this year received its best ever GCSE results, with over 87% of pupils achieving 5 or more A*-C grades including Maths and English.
This year Priory achieved a 6% rise in pupils achieving the ‘gold standard’ of 5 A*-C grades including Maths and English. Looking to the future Priory’s leadership are exploring the implementation, with the Trust’s support, of proven pioneering teaching methods such as Challenge Based Learning, immersion language teaching and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths) lessons.
